We strongly encourage parents to be vigilant with their son’s laptop use at home, as we are at school. Some suggestions we have offered parents are the following:
- Ensure that your son works on his lap top in a public space, such as the lounge room or study. This way his work and internet use can be monitored.
- If you are worried about your son using the internet late at night, consider disconnecting your wireless before going to bed so he is unable to access internet on any electronic device.
- If you are concerned about your son’s lap top use late at night, another thing to consider is asking him to leave his lap top in your room to charge. That way he will be unable to use it at unsuitable hours.
- Discuss 'Online Manners' with your son and remind him that anything he does while on the internet can be seen by everyone.
