Tips for the First Few Days of Secondary School
1. Be organised...
You will shown how to keep track of your work using your laptop. Many students find it easier to keep track of work using a diary. Purchasing a cheap diary (week to an opening) and having it in every class could be helpful.
2. Setting up your locker...
It is really important that you keep your locker very tidy and organised otherwise you will have difficulty finding your books for each class. See our link on "your locker" for more tips.

3. Don't bring everything on the first day...
Your teachers do not expect you to have all your text books and exercise books on the first day. Bring them gradually once you get your timetable. For more information on how to organise your books, head to the "organising books" page. DO bring in all the codes for your online textbooks (ebooks) so your teachers can help you set up access.

4. Label your books...
Make sure your name and homeroom are on all books, stationery, uniform, containers, bags and anything else you bring to school. It is a good idea to put books in a book box, an example of this is included in the "your locker" page.

5. You will be provided with a combination lock for your locker ...
Don't write the combination in an obvious place, you don't want anyone else being able to get into your locker. It is important that you remember your combination as soon as possible. The coordinators and homeroom teachers will be able to look up your combination if you forget it.

6. How am I getting home?
Make sure you organise with your Parents/Guardians how you are getting home, where you are being picked up or if you are taking public transport. Remember - if you are riding your bike bring a bike lock. We suggest that parents drop off and pick up students at the bottom of the hill near the ovals. This is close to the Year 7 classrooms.

7. Ask...
