Reports and Parent/Teacher/Student Interviews.
Students will receive an interim report at the end of term 1 and term 3 and they will receive a more detailed semester report at the end of Semester 1 (June) and 2 (December).
If a teacher has 'requested' an interview with you and your son, the teacher has an important matter they would like to discuss. This may be something positive or negative, do not assume the worst! If a teacher has indicated an interview is 'optional', they are still interested in discussing your son's progress with you they simply do not have any essential matters to discuss.
Parents will get the opportunity to make parent teacher interviews with teachers throughout the year via the parent portal. It is recommended that you book times as early as possible, many teachers teach more students than they have timeslots making it difficult for parents who wait before making appointments. The link to the parent portal can be found on the St. Bernard's College website.
Please note students must attend the interviews and are required to wear their full school uniform.
Below are some links to help you get the most out of Parent Teacher Student Interviews. The format is different from primary school, each interview is only 7 minutes long, so preparation will help you get the most out of your interviews.

INTERPRETING REPORTS
For Interim Reports, your son is graded from 'Excellent' to 'Needs Improvement' and teachers may 'Request an Interview' or decide that an interview is 'Optional'. Please use your own judgement when deciding whether or not to meet a teacher. 'Optional' does not indicate a lack of interest in your son's progress, it simply indicates that your son is progressing well and the teacher does not have any pressing need to meet with you.
For End of Semester Reports, your son is graded from A+ to UG for each assessment task. Some subjects also have tasks which are graded S (Satisfactory) or N (Not Satisfactory). Additionally, your son may receive a grade of NA if an assessment task was not submitted. Your son will also be graded from 'Excellent' to 'Needs Improvement' in his Attitude and Classwork and his progress compared to expected standards for his year level will be shown.
