Important Notices from the Year 7 Co-Ordinator.
Summer Uniform
Summer uniform is compulsory from the first day of Term 4. Students should be wearing a short sleeved white shirt with the College logo on the pocket and no tie. Students may wear their jumper and/or their blazer with summer uniform, but neither is compulsory. Further information can be found under the 'Year 7 Student Information' heading on the menu.
Orientation Day for 2017 Year 7 Students
Orientation Day for the 2017 Year 7 cohort will happen on Friday 25th November. Due to the introduction of a Year 8 'Headstart' program, the current Year 7 students will need to be at school on that day. There is no day off for current Year 7 students as there has been in the past.
Exams
Year 7 students sit exams in English and Maths. This year the exams will be scheduled from Tuesday 21st November to Thursday 23rd November. More exact times will be available shortly. Students are required at school for the entire school day and will have regular classes when they are not in an exam.
Subject Selection Procedures
Year 7 students have the opportunity to choose their language in Year 8, and the level of music they study. All students are required to study either Japanese or Italian, and must study music. Those students considering the Enhanced Music Program should also be planning on continuing with their instrumental studies and be willing to join one of the College music groups. We encourage students to discuss their music choice with one of the music staff if they would like further information.
Subject selections need to be completed online by students in consultation with their parents. Choices are not guaranteed but every effort will be made to accomodate all students.
Headstart Program
Students will participate in a 'Headstart' program during the final two weeks of school. This program gives students a taste of Year 8 including their homeroom and new elective classes. Students will receive their timetable for 2018 and have an opportunity to move lockers. There may be a small amount of work to complete over the holidays in preparation for 2018 classes.
Last Day of School 2017
The last day of school for 2017 is Friday December 8th. Students will finish at the normal time of 2:55pm.
Semester 2 Reports
Semester 2 reports will be available online a week after the last day of school. Parents should receive an email when their son's report becomes available.
